Frequently asked questions.

Starting therapy can come with a lot of questions. This space is here to provide clarity, ease any uncertainty, and help you feel more confident about taking the next step. If you’re still unsure, you’re always welcome to schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see if this feels like the right fit for you.

  • Getting started is simple. You can complete the contact form or schedule a free 15-minute consultation. This gives us a chance to briefly connect, discuss your needs, and make sure this feels like a good fit before scheduling your first full session.

  • The first session is a space for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk through what’s bringing you to therapy, review any important background information, and begin identifying what you’d like support with. You don’t have to have everything figured out. This is a collaborative and supportive starting point.

  • That’s completely okay. Many clients start therapy without knowing what to expect. You don’t need to prepare anything or have the “right” words. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive for you.

  • Feeling nervous is very normal. Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially if you’re used to handling things on your own. We’ll take things one step at a time so you can feel more at ease and supported throughout the process.

Getting Started

  • Sessions are typically held weekly, especially at the beginning. This helps build consistency and support. Over time, frequency can be adjusted based on your needs and goals.

  • Sessions are usually a 45-50 minute hour and are usually recommended to be weekly or biweekly, decreasing in frequency as you begin to reach your treatment goals. For more severe cases, more frequent sessions may be recommended. We also offer extended sessions if needed.

  • The length of therapy looks different for everyone. Some clients come for short-term support, while others engage in longer-term work. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you and your goals.

  • You don’t need to come in with a plan. Therapy is a space where we can explore what’s coming up for you in the moment. I’ll help guide the conversation when needed so you don’t feel stuck or unsure.
