Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or unsure how to move forward. Life transitions, relationship challenges, anxiety, trauma, and the pressure to always be strong can begin to take a toll. Therapy creates a space where you can slow down, speak honestly about what you are experiencing, and begin making sense of the thoughts, emotions, and patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

At Helping Humanity Heal, my goal is to create a supportive and culturally responsive space where individuals feel seen, heard, and empowered as they work toward healing and personal growth.

Healing begins when you are given the space to be honest about what you are carrying.

About Ashley

Hi, I’m Ashley Pittman, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and the founder of Helping Humanity Heal.

I work primarily with Black adults navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the emotional weight that often comes with caring for others while neglecting your own needs. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, struggling with boundaries, or trying to make sense of patterns in their relationships and emotional responses.

As a Black clinician, I understand how culture, identity, family dynamics, and systemic stress can shape the way we experience mental health and relationships. My work is rooted in culturally responsive care that honors each client’s lived experience while creating space for honest exploration, healing, and personal growth.

Therapy with me is collaborative, compassionate, and direct. Together we explore how past experiences may be influencing present challenges, develop healthier coping strategies, strengthen boundaries, and build the confidence needed to show up more fully in your life.

Outside of my work as a therapist, I value the importance of rest, creativity, and balance. In my personal time, I enjoy crocheting, playing my PS5, and spending time with my family as a proud dog mom and wife. These moments help me stay grounded and remind me that caring for our mental health also includes making space for joy, creativity, and connection.

Healing does not mean forgetting your story. It means learning how to carry it differently.

My Approach

My approach to therapy centers on creating a space where you feel seen, heard, and respected. Many people who begin therapy have felt overlooked, misunderstood, or unsupported in spaces that were supposed to help them. My goal is to provide a therapeutic environment where your experiences are acknowledged and your voice matters.

As a culturally informed therapist, I recognize the importance of understanding how identity, culture, family expectations, and life experiences shape the way we navigate the world. Our work together focuses on helping you reconnect with yourself, gain clarity around your emotions, and build on the strengths you already carry.

Therapy with me is collaborative and active. I am not simply here to listen. I work alongside you to identify patterns, explore the impact of past experiences, and develop practical strategies that support meaningful change. Our sessions may include reflective conversations, grounding techniques, and tools that help you challenge unhelpful thought patterns, strengthen boundaries, and respond to stress in healthier ways.

My clinical work is also informed by specialized training in perinatal mental health. Supporting individuals through pregnancy, postpartum transitions, and the emotional adjustments that come with parenthood is an area of deep importance in my work. In addition to my clinical training, I am also a trained birth and postpartum doula. This experience has given me firsthand insight into the ways families and support partners show up for birthing individuals, and I often integrate that understanding into my therapeutic work with clients navigating these transitions.

As we continue this work together, the goal is not perfection. The goal is helping you build the awareness, confidence, and tools needed to advocate for yourself, strengthen your relationships, and create a life that feels more balanced and aligned with who you are.
